v1.155
Set up in minutes
From sign-up to your first sale with fewer steps, and nothing fake on your store.
- A real store from day one. A new store's home page is built only from your own products: your first product with its photos, price and buy button, then the rest. With no products yet it shows your store name and nothing else. No made-up reviews, member counts, discounts or sample products. Menu and footer links go only to pages your store has.
- Products go on sale when you add them. A product with a price that you add from the catalogue or the Supplier Network is live in your store at once (see v1.148).
- A setup guide with 3 steps. Add a product, set up payments, take your store live. A product counts only once it is live, and payments count only once your checkout can take cards. Optional steps: make the design yours, check shipping and tax, connect your AI, connect your own domain. Hide for a day puts it away; Show setup guide on Home brings it back. See Set up your store.
- Sign up with just your email. A store name is optional. Your store uses your browser's time zone.
- Store policies from the first minute. Refund, shipping, privacy, terms and contact policies are written when your store is created, and rewritten when you change your store name, email, currency or country. See Store policies.
- Your store's name on customer emails, not "Platform DTC" (see v1.148).
- "Your store is live" email. When your store's address first serves your store, you get one email with the link, and your dashboard's notifications show it for 7 days.
Getting paid
- One button. Settings → Payment provider shows PlatformDTC Payments first, your country in one line, and Start taking payments. Stripe's form asks fewer questions: what we already know about you is filled in, and you can change it there. Missing details are named in plain words, like "your bank account" or "a photo ID".
- Checkout turns on by itself. If you never chose a card provider, checkout uses PlatformDTC Payments as soon as your account can take cards. A provider you chose is never changed.
- Sell before payouts are verified. Your store takes cards as soon as Stripe allows charges. Stripe holds payouts until your details are verified.
- Reminders. If Stripe's form is left unfinished for a day, we email you how many details are left, with a Continue link. At most 3 emails, 3 days apart.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay are switched on for your checkout address when your account can take cards.
- Currency. A store that never chose a currency and has no orders takes your payments account's currency.
- Shipping and taxes each have one screen, and Taxes and duties is in every store's menu (see v1.148). See Card payment providers.
Connect once, we do the rest
- Facebook. After you connect, your store gets the pixel your account used most recently, or a new one, with purchases also sent from our server. Your product catalog is connected once your store is live. With several ad accounts in one login, the one that spent the most in the last 30 days is turned on. Settings → Pixel settings lets you pick a pixel from Facebook; typing an ID is under Add manually. See Google Shopping and Facebook catalog.
- TikTok, email and all channels on one screen in Settings → Connections (see v1.150).
Bring your own AI
- Agents → Connect your AI has a tab for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and other AI, each with the address to copy and 3 steps. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor show under their own name, without an "unverified app" warning.
- Ready to work. A connected AI can read your store and make everyday changes. Anything that spends money, messages a customer or goes live still waits for your OK.
- Approvals you won't miss. The Agents item in the sidebar shows how many requests are waiting, and you get an email ("Your AI is waiting for your OK") with a link to each one, at most every 15 minutes.
- Customer messages wait for you. Support replies, tracking emails, resent payment or download links, and turning on the AI support agent or review-request emails from an outside AI now wait in Approvals, like money. See Connect your own agent.
