v1.178
Turn on payments first, add your bank later
Turning on payments no longer asks for your bank. You add it once you're taking payments, when you want to get paid.
Changed
- A shorter first form. Stripe's form asks only what's needed to take cards: your name, date of birth, home address, phone and, in the US, the last 4 digits of your SSN. The Have ready list no longer includes your bank account number.
- "Add your bank so we can pay you" shows on Settings → Payments once you're taking payments, with how much is waiting. Add your bank opens Stripe's secure form for your bank account details only. See Set up PlatformDTC Payments.
- Your money is kept safe until then in your PlatformDTC Payments account, and is paid out automatically once your bank is added.
- "N steps away" and the reminder emails no longer count the bank as a step to turn on payments.
New
- "Add your bank" email when you've made a sale at least 2 days ago and money is waiting: at most 3, 3 days apart, none if your store heartbeat is set to No emails.
