Fraud analysis on every order

Each order gets a risk level (Highest, Elevated or Normal) from checks such as card country against the delivery address, reuse of the same card or IP address, first-time or repeat buyer, and any fraud warning or chargeback already filed. The level appears on the order, in the orders list and its filters, and in exports. Checks that could not run are listed, not hidden.

Automations you switch on

• Require 3D Secure on risky card payments: the card's bank confirms the shopper when the same card paid in the last 24 hours, the email paid before with a different card, or after two declined attempts. Apple Pay and Google Pay are never asked.
• Cancel and refund Highest-risk orders: cancels, refunds in full, stops fulfillment and subscriptions, and confirms each refund with the processor.
• Block Highest-risk customers: adds the card and email to your payment processor's block lists.
• Refund on early fraud warning (on by default).
• Answer a chargeback automatically from the order's details.

Always on

Stop billing a card reported as fraud, send dispute evidence with every order, never refund a charge the bank has already taken back, catch refunds the bank cancelled, and watch your dispute rate.

Good to know

3D Secure, auto-cancel and blocking work on PlatformDTC Payments card payments. Highest risk is a prediction, and a customer who passes 3D Secure can still dispute a charge, so these tools lower chargebacks rather than end them.
